I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some amazing taxi drivers and one of them, a Marvellous service. I’ll never forget one such moment when the meter was at the most ridiculous rate (wow! 😉 and I needed to go to the airport. The driver was extremely helpful and very polite. We made a decision to travel together and he was even more courteous than usual. He also went out of his way to make me a special dinner which I enjoyed immensely.
However, I wasn’t entirely satisfied. The Marvellous meter maid took a long time to get paid and when it was finally paid, the guy took too long to get out of the taxi and left me waiting for 20 minutes! This was my experience in a luxury taxi company with a poor reputation. Needless to say, I will not go back.
But what about the customer experience? How did they really treat you? Let’s take a look…
When we arrived, the cab was unpacked in a really pleasant manner and we were served tea immediately. It was a nice gesture by the driver as he could have probably used the break. Once we’d had a drink the young woman who’d worked on the car said she could probably do the job with no problem. It was reassuring to know that someone in a busy car was going to be willing to do their job!
As we waited for the driver to return, the old customer suddenly appeared from behind us. She was extremely helpful and offered to show us her identification card. Very quickly, she produced the same card that I’d seen on the photocopy of my photo at the bank. The marvellous service!
As we drove along, she suddenly asked us if we minded if she could use our spare car for a few minutes. Obviously, we’d prefer to have our own. She was very polite and never spoke ill of our company or anything like that. Just a really nice person. When she parked in the back, she left a card that said “Thanks for a great evening. Hope to see you round.”
That’s how it was when we left. When we got out of the car, the young man was waiting for us. We thanked him for his time, told him we were pleased to do business with them and then went into the store to find our stuff. Our Marvellous service was appreciated.
Next time we went shopping, we went with another couple, a retired couple. This time they took the car shopping with them and they were very pleased with the service. They’d bought a pair of boots online and were delighted to find out that they were in fact double-glazed! They were also pleased to find that the man at the till had greeted them, cordially, as if they were new customers.
If you’d like to go with your car retailer to get your car accessories and such installed, make sure you do some research before hand. Find out what brands are reliable, that sell good quality products, and which are renowned for their customer service. You can often even buy online. We used to work with this company. It took a while but it was well worth the effort.
If you don’t want to take advice from people on the internet, speak to colleagues and friends. You may be able to find someone who has already used a specific company. This is a great idea, especially if you are getting accessories or parts for your vehicle that need replacing.
Never take any advice for granted, always double check it. If we took advice from a colleague, it would go against our policy. We wouldn’t recommend anything to anyone. Always ask lots of questions. Never rush! It may take a while to get the required information, but at least you’ll know you have done your due diligence.
If you are happy with the level of customer service and after-sales service you receive from your car accessories retailer, go with them again. But, as with anything else, don’t go with the first one you see! Try and shop online, read reviews, ask questions and remember to take advice with a grain of salt. And, above all, enjoy yourself and enjoy your car!
